Newcastle-Upon-Tyne

Ho'way over! Welcome to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne

Accommodation

After speaking to some of our previous families, they told us of hotels who have been respectful of the nature of our visiting families. Some do reasonable rates, the some wash laundry free of charge.

The Great North Children’s Hospital

Getting here

Ward 3
Great North Children’s Hospital
Victoria Wing, Royal Victoria Infirmary
Newcastle upon Tyne
NE1 4LP
0191 282 6003

If you’re arriving by car
There is a paid car park at the front of the hospital and a multi storey. If you're staying on the ward please save your receipts. We also have a list of alternative car parks:

If you’re arriving by taxi
Set the destination to the address above and you should be dropped off directly outside.

If you’re arriving by train
You will arrive in Newcastle Central Station. It’s approximately a 20 minute walk to the hospital, or taxis are available. The official black cabs here have white bonnets and drivers have ID, or you can use popular mobile apps.

If you’re arriving by Nexus Metro
The closest Metro station to us is Haymarket. Haymarket has step-free access unless stated otherwise. You can check the Nexus website for updates and works. You can get the Metro directly from Newcastle airport, too.

  1. Exit Haymarket on Percy Street

  2. Head over the road towards the university

  3. Continue walking straight through the courtyards until you see the hospital.

Once you’re at the hospital.
On arriving at the hospital, enter through the large revolving door, ensuring space ahead and behind you so the doors don’t halt. Ward 3 is on Floor 4 via the lifts on the right. Upon reaching Floor 4 via the lift, make three right turns, press the buzzer for Ward 3 for admission.
